University of Kurdistan Hewler (UKH) was established in 2006 as the first and only English medium international independent public university funded by the Kurdistan regional government.  The mission of UKH is to educate young men and women who will participate in the development and prosperity of the region.

UKH mandate is to educate and train young talents to become the driving force for sustainable development, improving standard of living and leading intellectual life in Kurdistan region and in Iraq in general.  UKH is open to all who qualify on academic merit and is committed to actively take part in the development process with a positive inspiring spirit.
