The University of Kurdistan Hawler (UKH), funded by the Kurdistan Regional Government,
is a newly established independent public university in the city of Erbil in the Federal Region of Kurdistan in Iraq.
The UKH is to play a leading role in the reform and modernization higher education and in the reconstruction and development of a vibrant civil society and culture in Kurdistan.
The University aims at building a world-class educational system having an international orientation. Though teaching is an important component of its activities, the University places a particular emphasis on research.
