Shahla received her M.A. in Linguistics from AL-Mustansiriyah University in Baghdad-Iraq, majoring in Linguistics and specializing in Stylistics. She got her TESL certificate from Seneca College in Toronto- Canada. She is a member of TESL Ontario/Canada. She is also an Interpreter and Translator with MCIS (Multilingual Community Interpreter Services). She has a deep passion for teaching. Her main teaching interests are in teaching EAP and in developing computer and Internet enhanced teaching methodologies. Other interests include: literature, translation, and short stories. She worked as a LINC teacher with WWCC (Working Women Community Centre) and also as an ESL teacher with ILSC (International School of Canada) in Toronto. She has an advanced knowledge of CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning). She believes that learning works very well when it is student-centered, learning works better when it is made a part of real life situations and students learn best when they are confident, at ease and positive.
